The photography section was establish in 1970 when the RPA was known as Police Training School.The photo section of RPA imparts basic training of photography and videography on subjects like investigation, scene of crime, scene of accident, finger print, foot print, document photography, photography of accused, photography of Mob & Riots, etc. The police personnel of different ranks from constable to Dy. SPs are imparted training in this cell.
Since photography is a reliable & substantial evidence it requires great skill & temperament which are inculcated by training. The photography cell is kept updated with introduction of latest technologically advanced equipment. Digital photgraphy camera has been added in photography cell recently. The photography section is located in a separate building near the academic block. It is manned by skilled photographers & technical experts.
